In the beginning of the summer - June 4th - international music festival ,,Father's guitar'' was
organized already 6th time. The concert started with the local band called ,,Pievos''. Then - charming music was given by bands ,,Insomnia Vera'' and ,,The Skys''. After those bands we had small break and during it ,,Music sounds fare'' took a place. For those who wanted, bands members were telling more about how to play one or another kind of instrument and people even had a possibility to try it! In the fair we had saxophone, acoustic and electric guitars, drums, percussion, synthesizer. Audience was fascinated by the fair activities . After the break we had another ,,shot'' of energy - it was our friends from Latvia ,,Dabasu Durovys''. Eventually, all who were still sitting got up from the chairs, because ,,Skyders'' appeared on stage. The concert ended with calmer tone - our neighborns from Poland ,,Applesseed''. We really look forward you to be in ,,Father's guitar'' next year - 2012 is coming!

One Thursday in the middle of the spring (April 14th), right when Sakuras are blooming, Young Leaders club organized the event called ,,Close to Japan''. It was an opportunity for all Rokiškis town and region inhabitants to get to know more about this magical east-Asia country. Our helpers was Vytautas Magnus University Japansese club ,,Hashi'' members, who gave us a lot interesting information about traditional cuisine, culture and language. For example: Japanese are usually eating green (unbaked) food, they don't have letters in ABC and one symbol sometimes mean whole word. We also had an unique chance to watch ,,anime'' - traditional Japanese cartoons. And we learnt how to dance too! Fishing process which was showed in the dance gave a lot of fun for all participants. Despite all those activities we also learned how to make origami (make various figured from paper). In the end of the event we had Japanese language lesson (where we got beginners dictionaries, learned first words and even wrote our names in Japanese). And I forgot to mention about student from Japan - friendly girl also showed us some etiquette rules and helped in language lesson. This was our first touch to Japan.

In 13th January 2010 evening, people from all Rokiskis region started to gather next to Freedom monument in city center. People were from different backgrounds: starting from organizations RJOS Round table members to 300 youth, a lot of teachers and witnesses of Lithuania Freedom which happened 20 years go. The main goal why people came there was to mention Lithuania freedom anniversary and make symbol from 323 people as a mark that we care about Freedom. The symbol was words „Freedom 20“ made from people with torches. Burning torches remained us that evening when people were burning fireplaces and fighting for Lithuanian freedom. After shouting country name and building symbol we lighted memorial fire in front of the main places that remind us about freedom fight: headquarters of Rokiskis military movement.
In late evening we went to Rokiskis municipality’s square to sing national anthem and get some hot tea or warm porridge.
